Children Law team step in to ensure children in Newport receive a gift this Christmas

Our Children Law team will once again be working their magic to make sure that local families in need are not forgotten about this Christmas.

Now, in its third year, the Children Law team at Harding Evans have once again stepped in to help families that are supported by Newport City Council, and who have been identified as struggling financially to provide gifts for their children to open on Christmas Day.

Previous collections have been so successful that gifts have also been provided to BAWSO, an all-Wales organisation supporting people affected by domestic abuse, human trafficking, FGM, forced marriage and other forms of violence, to ensure that the children living in their refuges and safe houses at Christmas also receive a present.

As well as collecting presents from the team internally at Harding Evans, the team hope to work with local businesses and organisations who have previously donated to the appeal.

Siobhan Downes, Partner in Harding Evans’ Children Law team commented “We are pleased to be able to help Newport City Council again this year to provide gifts to families within our local community that may be struggling.  Over the past couple of years, both our own staff, and local businesses and organisations have really stepped up and been incredibly generous. We very much hope that we will have further support again this year, to be able to make a difference to families in need within the community that we serve in Newport and potentially further afield”.

If you would like to donate a gift to the appeal, please email amanda.kimmins@hevans.com, who is co-ordinating this event.
