(L-R, Samantha Jones, Rebecca Ferris, Leah Thomas, Rhian Jones and Abigail Fillery)

As we have recently announced, there is a new Head of Family Matrimonial Law at Harding Evans. There has also been a couple of retirements and a couple of new starters over the last 6 months, so we thought now would be a good opportunity to introduce you to the whole team.

Samantha Jones – Secretary

Sam is the longest serving member of the team, having been with Harding Evans for 30 years (and we’re all convinced she started as a child, because she does not look old enough!). Sam is the team’s Secretary, supporting the solicitors and liaising with clients when needed. If you have an enquiry, it is likely that Sam will be the first person you speak to.

Rebecca Ferris – Solicitor

Rebecca joined the family team at Harding Evans in December 2022. She qualified as a solicitor in 2021 and is quickly gaining specialist knowledge in regards to Agricultural Assets in divorce. Rebecca takes a pragmatic approach with her clients, keeping their best interests at heart and aiming to reach a conclusion as amicably as possible.

Leah Thomas – Head of Department

Leah was promoted to Head of Department in April 2024. She qualified as a solicitor in 2013. Praised by clients for her compassionate nature, Leah enjoys taking care of difficult tasks that a client would struggle to deal with that themselves and seeing the positive difference in people at the end of the process compared with the beginning.

Rhian Jones – Associate Solicitor

Rhian joined Harding Evans in December 2023. She qualified as a solicitor in 2019. Rhian specialises in divorce, matrimonial finances and children matters. Rhian takes a clear, and sensitive approach with her clients, with a view to managing conflict and confrontation.

Abigail Fillery – Paralegal

Abigail joined Harding Evans in January 2024. Her role at Harding Evans involves supporting the solicitors by preparing documents for court hearings and meetings, and communicating with clients.

How can we help?

We are extremely proud of our family and matrimonial team’s reputation as one of the country’s leading family law specialists. But we know that expertise alone is not enough to help families through difficult times. Above all else, we are compassionate and we care about what our clients are going through.

If you’ve decided that you want a divorce or separation, our team will help guide you every step of the way. If you need advice, please do not hesitate to get in touch to arrange an appointment at either our Newport or Cardiff office.
