Recognition for Craig Court at Cardiff & District Law Society Annual Dinner

The Cardiff & District Law Society Annual Dinner took place at The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff on Friday 4^th October. As usual, the dinner incorporated presentation of the society’s awards, recognising individuals and initiatives that are reflective of their values, while enhancing communities and the legal sector in Wales.

This year saw the introduction of a ‘Legal Hero Award’, to recognise a legal professional in the Cardiff area, who stands out for making a difference to the lives of others. We are delighted that the recipient of that award was our very own Craig Court.

Craig is regularly instructed in high profile inquests and inquiries, and is currently representing Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice Cymru at the UK Covid Inquiry. He also specialises in bringing actions under the Human Rights Act.

Craig is particularly passionate in the area of mental health, having represented a number of bereaved families who have lost a loved one due to failings in their care, and is and advocate for change in mental health service provision, particularly in Wales where sadly, services are lacking, with patients often sent hundreds of miles away from their loved ones to receive care.

In addition, this year Craig has also launched a pro bono clinic to support the families of Welsh children’s hospice, Ty Hafan.

Craig’s success comes off the back of Harding Evans taking home the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion award at the 2023 dinner.
